With over 20 years in the aviation and food safety industry, Zuzana Bohanna has experienced the difficulties of keeping food fresh, providing the best level of customer service and maintaining regulation regulatory standards. It is this experience that gave birth to the two original products, AVICOOL® cool bags and ice blocks. 

 

While working on the British Airways Buy on Board project, she saw the need for smart products, starting with a cool bag that would store food and drinks effectively and not be difficult for the crew to manage. Working with her husband, Pierre Bohanna, and friends who are in the film industry, they produced a prototype that came from a pedigree of both air and space travel, the first cool bag being made by a friend who made the costumes for the Star Wars films. After a lot of rigorous testing, with a variety of food and drinks, she partnered with a manufacturer who made the first batch which were snapped up by British Airways to use on their flights. 

 

Zuzana then turned her attention to the issue of keeping food chilled for hours at a time when storage is limited. After long term experience in Compliance and Food Safety management, she saw the pain points within mobile catering and used that in her ingenious AVICOOL® ice block design. Creating solutions that make staff and crew jobs easier, and also ensuring conformance to Food and Safety regulations.
